Albie Sachs - Writer

For most of his life Albie Sachs has played a prominent part in the struggle for justice in South Africa. As a result he has been detained in solitary confinement, tortured, exiled and blown up by a car bomb losing his right arm and sight of an eye. After the release of Nelson Mandela he returned to South Africa and played an important part in drafting the post-apartheid Constitution. He served as a judge in the Constitutional Court of South Africa for 15 years
